Discover Texel

The Texel Forest

The Texel forest

The Dennen is a beautiful forest, home to a variety of deciduous and pine trees, with a great diversity of plant and bird species. The forest was originally planted for timber, but today it’s mainly a lovely area for hiking. There are nature playgrounds, a tall observation tower, and a spacious barbecue area. Be sure to stop by ’t Turfveld, a bio-kiosk with delicious fries. The forest is an adventure for children and a perfect spot for a walk with your dog.

Blonde dunes, crashing waves, and plenty of birds: what catches your attention? With a strong sea breeze, you can fly a kite or hit the water for some windsurfing. Along the beach sections, you'll find cozy beach pavilions where you can have lunch, dinner, or try a local Texel beer.

Private gardens

Private gardens

An island lies at your feet, but sometimes you just want to do nothing. That’s possible: after all, it's vacation! The accommodations at Vakantiehuizen Texel come with a spacious private garden. Surrounded by greenery, you can relax or read a book. From expansive views over meadows full of horses to a glimpse of Den Hoorn or the rich canopy of De Dennen: nature takes center stage.

Wadden Sea

Wadden Sea

The east side of the island is a bird paradise. As the sea retreats, thousands of birds forage in the nutrient-rich mud. Crabs, shrimp, mussels, worms: it’s one big restaurant. While a flock of wading birds draws intricate patterns in the sky, you’ll be enchanted by the unique light. This part of Texel is still wonderfully quiet: sit back on the dike and enjoy!

Vacation with your horse

Riding along the beach, through forest paths, or across historic landscapes. It sounds wonderful, and it truly is! Vakantiehuizen Texel offers a unique experience. Bring your own horse to our island and enjoy an unforgettable holiday. At Hoeve Consensus, you are most welcome. You can stay in the apartment (4 people) or the B&B.

In the spacious guest stable, there’s room for your horse. There’s also a meadow or paddock available as desired. All horses are fed in the morning and evening, of course, with high-quality roughage. Owners David and Leonie ensure a carefree stay and are happy to provide tips on the best horse riding routes.
